The Project

The project was a 2 storey rear extension along with a refurbishment of the main house. The client moved out for the duration of the project which allowed us the internal space needed to complete this job.

The ground floor rear extension would become the new kitchen whilst the first-floor extension become the master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. All bathrooms in the house were fully renovated and a new plumbing system was installed along with underfloor heating to the bathrooms. In addition, 90% of the house was decorated and new flooring laid to the ground floor

External works were also completed to the rear garden.

The job from the outset was not easy given the restricted area we had to work within and the steps we needed to go up before working down a tight ally. Works were mainly at the back of the property which meant all our materials needed to be hand balled back and forth.

Despite some major changes made by the client internally which required walls to be removed and additional plastering added post-contract, the job was completed only 2 weeks over the allocated programmed time. We managed to overcome the issue with restricted access and boarded the front-drive out to become our site compound. All skips and deliveries were left on the drive behind a locked hoarding with cameras overlooking the zone.

External works involved the rear garden being raised, so again an awkward task, but we managed to reduce the ground and create a tiled patio with slow rising steps to the high level of the garden. We also introduced some external lighting.

Overall the project went according to plan and the client was very happy with the finished project.
